New web site and catalog interface coming soon
Syracuse University Library will launch a redesigned web site with a new catalog search tool during summer 2009. The website will have a completely new look and will include Encore, a new search tool for the library catalog. Encore is intuitive and user friendly and will enable users to locate information much more easily than in the past. Encore groups search results by Date, Author, Language, Subject, Location, Format, Tags, and other parameters, and will suggest next steps when a user enters a search term and isn't sure what to do next.
What is the Schedule? The new website will be brought up in phases. On July 28th, the new Library website will replace the current Library website (at library.syr.edu). A link to the previous website will be available for a limited time. User testing will continue and additional refinements made throughout this period. The official Go Live date is August 25th.
