Business, is a customized collection of information resources specific to business and management that was designed for Whitman students, faculty, and staff. Its search functionality, powered by MetaLib, streamlines the discovery process and enables users to locate the information more quickly and effectively by searching multiple business information resources simultaneously. A single search will return results from a variety of information resources such as journal articles, newspapers, books, SUMMIT catalog, and other quality Internet resources. There are also links to other library services, as well as to course-specific information developed by the library’s business subject specialist. The site was developed to meet the specific needs of the Whitman School population and was designed with the input of future users. Options include a simple "Google-like" keyword search or an advanced search of specific fields with Boolean operators to accommodate varying skill levels of individual users and three audience-specific versions are available for student, faculty, and staff use. The gateways can be accessed through Blackboard and the student version of the gateway can be found on the library website at: http://library.syr.edu/information/services/whitman/students.html. |

The café, though as of now nameless, has attracted all kinds of attention from student and faculty alike. More than just a place to grab a quick snack or a safety net for those early risers who forget their lunch on the counter, the new café creates a friendly environment where students and staff can relax for a moment and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee or a tasty made-to-order deli sandwich.
