Library server outage: December 30, 7:30 am to 9:30 am
LISD is scheduling a maintenance outage for the Library server for
Tuesday, December 30, from 7:30 am to 9:30 am. Services that
depend on the Library server and will be unavailable during this time
include:
staff printing
Illiad print and email files
The 5 student-use machines along the windows in Media
The Pubmaps PC
The Jaws workstation in Reference
The F:, G:, and H: drives are not located on the Library server and
should be unaffected.
The reason for the maintenance outage is to attempt to replace a
damaged disk in the server. LISD discovered that a disk in the Library server had failed. The
Library server has a fault-tolerant design that is currently keeping
the server up and running in a reduced performance state.
However, any further disk losses could result in a failure of the
Library server. Therefore, we need to try to correct this problem as
soon as possible. We need to do this during business hours to
have access to outside technical staff who may be assisting in this
process.
